If you've been seeing the above message pop up on your computer, it just means that you have some updates that need to be installed.

How To Install Updates

  • On your keyboard, press the Windows key + S

  • Type “software center” and open it

  • In the left pane of the window that appears, select the second option “updates

  • Click “install all” in the top right corner.

  • You can keep working while the updates install.

Note: It's important that you restart your computer once the installations are complete. Not only will the updates not properly apply until this is done, but you'll also likely keep getting pop-ups from software center.

If you would like your computer to take care of this on its own, good news! You can set your own business hours within software center. Doing this tells your computer when it's okay to install updates and restart your computer. It's recommended to set it to the time you're at school.

How To Use The Business Hour Settings

With software center open, click "Options" in the left pane.

Under the "Work Information" section, you can set your own business hours and days.

Expand the "computer maintenance" section and make sure both boxes are checked.

Click "sync policy" to apply the changes.

Now your computer should handle all the updating for you without the pesky popups. :)
